Devil’s Rock
In Point Devil, they knew his face
Beard shadowed, a widowed trace
William's name rang in the wind
Keeper of the light, where fears are pinned
Half a mile from shore he stood
Braving the rock as only he coul.
Storms brewed heavy that fateful day
Winds grew wild, leading him astra
The seas churned with a vengeful grac
A tempest no man could ever embrace
At dusk, the giant wave did loom
Rising like a ghost from the watery tomb
Oh, sing for the keeper, strong and grand
Whose light once gleamed like a guiding hand
Lonely William, a dutifully brave man
The Devil’s Rock Lighthouse Keeper
The house on cliffs watched in dismay
As waves stole the tower away
Higher than the stone spire’s peak
The wave crashed down, so fierce, so bleak
When the mist cleared and sight returned
The lighthouse was gone, for which they yearned
Oh, sing for the keeper, strong and grand
Whose light once gleamed like a guiding hand
Lonely William, a dutifully brave man
The Devil’s Rock Lighthouse Keeper
We will always think of you
Rest in Peace
Lovely William
Rest in Peace
